Extended Sessions

 

These sessions require an additional fee and must be registered before June 1 if not otherwise stated.

They can be found on the registration page for the conference. If you've already registered for the conference and want to add an extended session, just click  the "Reserve Tickets" button to add to your registration.

 

All equipment must be paid for before it can leave the conference.

If paying by Purchase Order/Invoice, please arrange to make payment before July 15, 2024.

 

**Lunch is provided for all extended sessions.

Crio Printer new machine and training

The Crio Digital transfer printer is a fantastic solution for putting custom designs on T-Shirts. Participants will learn how to use the Crio to create and print designs onto garments, tote bags, coasters, rally towels etc. Options for this training are tailored to what you need. You can choose to receive the printer, a heat press, and a hat press, or training only if you already have a Crio and need a refresher. This session is for the printer and training. See additional options below.

Baby Lock Victory Serger New Machine and Training

Baby Lock Victory is a self threading serger with air thread loopers and no thread tension. This is a great serger for anyone to learn.   This bundle will include the serger and inspirational guide, along with a bundle that would include 8 spools of thread, project materials for a Jelly Roll Quilt, 6 foot kit and rolling travel case for increased accessibility. Project taught will be a Jelly Roll Quilt using the serger. This class will begin at 10 am.

Baby Lock Victory Serger TRAINING ONLY

Baby Lock Victory is the self threading serger that was included in last year’s serger session. This session includes 8 spools of thread, project materials for a Jelly Roll Quilt, 6 foot kit, and  a serger bin. Bring your Baby Lock Victory to class and complete a project during the training. Or just come to the training and watch and learn. You will still receive the bundle and project materials. NO EQIUPMENT IS INCLUDED IN THIS SESSION. This class will begin at 10 am.

Brother ScanNCut SDX325 New Machine and Training

In an effort to increase entrepreneurship, and develop transferable skill practice the Brother Scan N Cut sessions will include the equipment (Brother ScanNCut SDX325) as well as a hands on project takeaway. Instructors from the industry, Johnston's Sewing Center, will lead participants in the use of this new bluetooth compatible equipment and will provide support for a year following this session. Bundle includes the rolling trolley, brayer, tool kit, scanning mat, 1 craft vinyl, 1 heat transfer vinyl, 1 roll of transfer paper, heat and bond and rotary blade upgrade Kit. The project taught will be "3 different ways to do lettering with your SNC using craft vinyl, heat transfer vinyl, and fabric." There will be several different projects that you will complete during the day along with the Basic 101 of ScanNCut!

Do you have a Router CNC table that is collecting dust? Are you not quite sure how to use it or V-Carve? Come and spend the day with us to learn how to use your table and how to integrate it into your class. Participants will receive and be trained on using the Shark SD120 and V-carve software. All participants will be given the book “CNC Router Essentials” and a flash drive we will use for the training. We go over setting up your machine for the 1st time, project design (CAD), converting to artwork to vectors, converting vectors to toolpaths (CAM), and toolpath file transfer to the machine. You will leave the training with a small project that could be finished in a few hours. The project design discussion would be useful for anyone that uses V-Carve for a CAD program regardless of the project finishing tool.

Small Ruminant Health and Parasite Analysis 101

Ready to refresh and learn about small ruminant parasite identification, examining fecal counts and comparing techniques of specimen preparation including using a centrifuge and parasite control methods? Participants will leave with materials to produce fecal counts, a centrifuge, small animal restraint stand, and electric hoof trimmers. FAMACHA certification will be in the afternoon with completion upon submission of requirements. Additional practice using equipment will also be in the afternoon.

Great introduction to coding and sensors found in the 2 new CTE CS Related Courses as well as any computer science course. Sourdough Bread Making

Discover the world of Sourdough breadmaking while spending the day learning about the basic steps. Each participant will receive sourdough starter and will work though the process of making sourdough bread and learn about discard recipes throughout the day. Participants will receive sourdough breadmaking supplies including a baker’s scale, batter bowls, a Kitchenaid bread bowl, Banneton, enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven and multiple other breadmaking supplies.

Brother PRS100 Embroidery New Machine and Training

Brother PRS100 is a single-needle embroidery only machine (that is shaped like a multi-needle so it can do hard-to-hoop items) that would embroider on things like ball caps, bags, backpacks, lunch boxes and so much more. The class would be taught as an introduction to machine embroidery and the kit includes all the supplies needed to complete the project in class.

Brother PRS100 is the embroidery machine in last year’s machine embroidery session. The class will be taught as an introduction to machine embroidery and the kit includes all the supplies needed to complete the project in class. This is an excellent session for those who got a Brother PRS100 last year and need the stand and Durkee frames along with more training. The embroidery machine itself is NOT included in this session.

Business instructors should plan on attending one of the trainings to learn how the new Survey of Business course standards will impact teaching as well as address content that better reflects an overview of all Business and Marketing pathways.

    • ​The focus of the session will be the diagnostic process and repair of the Driver Assistive Technologies found in today’s modern vehicles. Common Driver Assistive Technologies are Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure, Blind Spot monitoring, and cross traffic systems. EMS discussions. Possible New tool demonstration.
