ACTE Summer Conference Extended Sessions

Explore in-depth extended sessions designed to provide hands-on learning, specialized training, and industry-focused professional development. These sessions offer participants the opportunity to build practical skills, earn certifications, and gain valuable resources to bring back to their classrooms and programs.

Create with CRIO Printer (new machine and training) - 7/20 - 9:00-11:00 

The CRIO Digital transfer printer is a fantastic solution for putting custom designs on T-Shirts. Participants will learn how to use the CRIO to create and print designs onto garments, tote bags, coasters, rally towels etc. See options below to tailor your classroom equipment to what you need. You can add a heat press, a hat press, a tumbler/mug press or training only if you already have a CRIO and need a refresher.

Hotronix Fusion 16 x 20 Heat press for use with CRIO Printer - 7/20 - 9:00-11:00 

If you have a CRIO printer you need this heat press! This session will teach you how to use the Hotronix Fusion heat press and you'll get to take it home with you! 

Hotronix IQ 360 Cap Press for use with CRIO Printer - 7/20 - 9:00-11:00 

If you have a Crio printer and a heat press you need this cap press, too!

Meet your creative companion - the CRIO® is a dream device for digital decorators. This compact 4-color, 4-station powderless DTF printer is the ideal solution for enthusiasts, small enterprises, and ambitious individuals. Learn all aspects of the equipment and additional options. No equipment is included in this session. Select this option only if you already have a CRIO printer and need a refresher or more information on how to get the best use out of it.

Animal Health-Parasites and Production Methods with Equipment - 7/20 - 8:30-3:30

Gain hands-on experience with essential livestock production and animal health management techniques for medium and large animals. Participants will learn parasite prevention, diagnosis using the Wisconsin Fecal Analysis method with centrifuge, and treatment strategies. Additional training includes proper animal restraint techniques, FAMACHA certification opportunities, livestock grooming and hair coat management, and safe equipment storage practices. Participants will also receive industry-standard equipment and tools to support classroom instruction and program implementation.

CASE Briefcase - Animal Health (CASE Vet Science certification) - 7/20 - 8:30-3:00 and 7/21 - 9:00-11:00

Animal Health and Veterinary Science (AHVS) is a semester-long program focused on inquiry-based learning and hands-on technical skill development in veterinary science. Students explore the factors that impact animal health while building essential skills in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment through interactive activities, projects, and real-world case studies. The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, problem-solving, and practical application, preparing students for success in animal health care and related career pathways.

CASE Briefcase - Ag-X (Intro to Agriculture Course/Middle School Ag Course) - 7/20 - 8:30-3:00 and 7/21 - 9:00-11:00

Teachers will leave this training certified to teach the CASE AgXplore course. Designed for middle school agriculture programs, AgXplore introduces students to the daily impact of agriculture through engaging, hands-on lessons and projects. Participants will explore curriculum topics including plants, natural resources, recycling, energy, animals, food systems, and agricultural careers. The course also incorporates laboratories, games, questioning activities, and Exploratory SAE project development to create an interactive and student-centered learning experience.

Greenhouse Organization Tools and Strategies - 7/20 - 1:00-4:00

Discover practical organization strategies and industry-inspired tools designed to improve efficiency in school greenhouse operations. Participants will learn methods for organizing plants, trays, and supplies while exploring new labeling technology used in the horticulture industry. Training includes hands-on instruction with a digital labeling system and starter materials that can be implemented immediately in the classroom or greenhouse setting.

Work-Based Learning Extended Session - 7/20 - 1:00-5:00

During this extended Work-Based Learning (WBL) afternoon session, attendees will receive focused, hands-on training on the new accountability and reporting platform,Bright Path. A platform representative will be present to guide participants through key features, provide demonstrations, and support real-time practice to ensure users leave with increased confidence and readiness to implement the system effectively.

Participants will also engage in a comprehensive exploration of program options, including a side-by-side review of JAG (Jobs for America’s Graduates) alongside WBL options such as Internship, Career Practicum, Pre-Apprenticeship, and Youth Apprenticeship. This comparison will allow attendees to examine structures, outcomes, and best-fit applications for their programs.

Tools, Tips, and Takeaways for New Teachers - 7/20 - 9:00-3:30

Jumpstart your journey as a Career and Technical Education teacher with this interactive session designed specifically for new CTE educators. Whether you're transitioning from industry or entering the classroom for the first time, this session will equip you with practical strategies, classroom management tips, and curriculum planning tools to help you start strong. We’ll explore the unique role of CTE in student success, share real-world teaching examples, and connect you with resources and a supportive network of fellow educators. Walk away with ready-to-use ideas and the confidence to make your first year a success!

3D Printing and Prototyping for CTE with Equipment - 7/20 - 1:00-4:00

Train educators to incorporate 3D printing technology into Computer Science, Manufacturing, business and marketing, and CTE courses, allowing students to create product prototypes and promotional materials. Participants will go from unboxing your equipment to printing. 

Embroidery Machine Techniques and Training Extended Session - 7/20 - 1:00-3:00

Build confidence in embroidery fundamentals through this hands-on professional development session designed for educators. Participants will learn essential techniques including proper hooping methods, stabilizer selection and application, threading techniques, backing options, machine setup, troubleshooting, and finishing methods for professional-quality results. Additional instruction will cover material selection, embroidery best practices, and strategies for successful classroom implementation. Teachers will leave with practical skills and knowledge that can be immediately applied in apparel, fashion, entrepreneurship, and maker-based programs.

ASE Foundation Extended Sessions - 7/23 & 7/24 - 8:30-3:00

This training prepares instructors and administrators to build a dynamic advisory that will have a lasting impact and bring value to the students, advisory committee, school, and local industry.This training will also prepare instructors and administrators to prepare their program for accreditation.

LAP SEN Criminal Justice Extended Session - 7/23 & 7/24 - 8:30-3:00

This hands-on professional development training equips Criminal Justice educators with foundational crime scene investigation skills aligned to real-world industry practices. Participants will explore evidence collection, scene documentation, investigative observation techniques, chain of custody procedures, and crime scene photography through interactive activities and practical application. Educators will leave with classroom-ready instructional resources, lesson plans, assessments, and industry-recognized microcredential alignment designed to bring authentic, career-connected learning experiences into their classrooms.
